Second Climate Action Strike

The girls set off to Dublin again for the second Climate Action Strike, only this time they brought "Earthy", the planet they made at Dross Evolution. He got to go in the front seat of the car, on the Luas, walkies and he also made it onto the stage outside the Dail.

No Planet B Club Write to Election Candidates

The Club decided they wanted to write to all the Election Candidates (May 2019) to find out what they are planning to do about climate change if they are elected. (see letter opposite)

The girls received numerous replies. Some were even hand delivered and one of the candidates even sent a large box of chocolates with their reply. The girls enjoyed the chocolates at their weekly meeting. It was noted that the box was fully recyclable ;-)

Below are the replies received from candidates.

Our Club Launch at the "Love our Planet" on Valentines Day event at Dross Evolution was a Huge success. We are delighted with the fantastic support from over 100 people. There was lots of activities including an art exhibition made from plastic waste created by over 60 children from Naas , a giant Tread Softly Maze, A giant save the fish game, Face painting, and lots of delicious homemade treats sponsored by our mums.

We would like to thank Bill Clear, Social Democrat Candidate,  who came to visit us and allowed us to interview him (See Video) We would also like to thank all the Transition year students, Isabelle, Kaoe, and Mathias who helped set up and clean up the event, Kendra and Endjia for the Face painting, our mums for all the homemade cakes, and Martina from Dross Evolution who hosted and Sponsored the Event.

Letter of Encouragement, to the No Planet B Club

from The President of Ireland

"It gives me great pleasure to send you my best wishes, as you launch your "No Planet B" project.

You are so right to underline that we all share an enormous responsibility to protect our environment and to play our part in preserving the planet for our own and for future generations.

As President of Ireland I am very proud of the many young citizens who, like you, are constantly willing to rethink, re-imagine and re-consider the way we live, in order that real difference can be achieved.

Thank you very much for your efforts.
